I’m Dr. Michael Duben — a board-certified endocrinologist and Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)-trained physician practicing in Fairfield, CT. I founded Restore Health LLC in 2025 to offer something genuinely rare: the diagnostic rigor of academic endocrinology combined with the root-cause depth of functional medicine, delivered as a boutique concierge practice that puts you — not your insurance company — at the center of your care.

I founded this practice after seeing too many patients dismissed with “your labs are normal” while still feeling unwell — and knowing the answers were there if someone took the time to look.

Training That Speaks for Itself

I completed my medical training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and my endocrinology fellowship at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine — one of the country’s premier academic endocrinology programs — under two giants of the field:

• The late Dr. Norman Fleischer — widely regarded as one of the preeminent endocrinologists in American medicine
• Dr. Martin Surks — a world-renowned thyroid expert whose research has shaped modern thyroid medicine for decades

Training under Dr. Fleischer and Dr. Surks gave me a foundation in thyroid and endocrine medicine that informs every complex case I evaluate — including the patients who have already seen multiple specialists and still don’t have answers.

I subsequently completed training through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) — the gold standard credentialing body for functional medicine practitioners — adding root-cause investigative methodology to my endocrinology foundation.

I have also served as a clinical instructor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, teaching and mentoring the next generation of endocrinologists.

Two Practices. One Philosophy.

For over 20 years, I have run Endo of Fairfield, a traditional endocrinology practice serving Fairfield County. In 2025, I founded Restore Health LLC as a dedicated boutique concierge functional endocrinology practice — offering longer appointments, deeper investigation, and care unbounded by insurance constraints.

The two practices are intentionally separate. Restore Health LLC is cash-pay only, allowing me to spend 90 minutes with new patients, order advanced testing when appropriate, and build treatment plans driven entirely by your clinical picture — not by what a payer will reimburse. This is concierge-level endocrinology the way it should be practiced.
